The Parents and Friends Organization of the North Mississippi Regional Center, more commonly known as the "Friends of NMRC," is a non-profit group created in 1974 to support the mission and work of the Center. They are registered as a “Charitable Organization” by the Mississippi Secretary of State. Membership is open to all, with the majority being the parents, family, and friends of the Center's campus and community clients. Annual memberships (February 1 - January 31) are $10.00 and payable in the Director's Office located on the Oxford campus or by mail to NMRC, Attention: Mary Putman, 967 Regional Center Drive, Oxford, Mississippi 38655. Checks should be made payable to "NMRC Friends." The Friends support the clients and staff of NMRC in many ways. Money raised through an annual fund raiser is used to fund special projects and to purchase specialized equipment to enhance our clients' quality of life. The Friends also sponsor and fund the Center's "Employee of the Month" and "Employee of the Year" recognitions and purchase all gifts presented to employees celebrating 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, and 40-year service milestones at NMRC's Employee Recognition Program each August.
