The Engineering Department is responsible for the maintenance, construction, and operations of the infrastructure of NMRC on the 220-acre main campus in Oxford as well as the 70+ acres of community programs located throughout the northern 32 counties of the Center's area of service. This includes all structures, roads, grounds, and utilities. Additionally, the department maintains NMRC's vehicles ranging from, farm equipment, heavy construction equipment to utility carts. The department's warehousing function orders, receives, stocks, and issues all supplies for campus and community programs.
The construction and repair programs are accomplished using a multitude of options which extend from Bureau of Building, Grounds and Real Property Management, Capital Improvement and Repair and Renovation projects, in-house managed contracts to departmental craftsmen applying their multi-skill knowledge for repair and modifications. The Engineering Department also provides technical consultations to programmatic departments on environmental issues.
