The Technology Assistive Device (TAD) Center is a community resource program of the NMRC which operates to help children and adults with disabilities find appropriate technology to meet their needs.
The TAD Center provides free evaluations, training, and equipment demonstration in areas such as augmentative communication, alternate ways to access computers and software supports, as well as information on additional areas of assistive technology. Through Project START (Success Through Assistive Rehabilitative Technology), the TAD Center also provides an equipment loan program. Referrals can be made by family members, health care providers, school districts, rehabilitation centers, speech and hearing clinics, human service agencies, hospitals, and home health agencies.
